Byron Bay - Location

For many generations the pristine beauty and natural lifestyle of Byron Bay has attracted a wide array of visitors and residents to the once sleepy seaside village. Geographically, Byron Bay is the most easterly location on the Australian mainland and when you gaze at the ocean from Cape Byron you are often rewarded with sightings of the abundant marine life. Located on the North Coast of NSW, Byron is a leisurely 2-hour drive south of Brisbane.
To experience all that is unique to this area take the time to explore the magnificent beaches and the world heritage listed rainforests. The alternative lifestyle also attracts artists, writers, and musicians, so awaken your creative senses or relax your muscles with a massage from one of the many healers. Byron Bay is more than a popular tourist destination, it is a celebration of life and a place where you can nurture your soul.To the local indigenous people Byron is known as the place of healing or "Arakwal".
