The combination of modern architecture, beautiful gardens and the peaceful isolation of Orion Springfield Town Centre, allows the cafe at Mary Ryan's to have a very unique atmosphere unlike most cafe's.

Our patrons are able to experience this atmosphere in the alfresco area, or sit inside and bask amongst the wealth of knowledge and adventure emanating from the books, while enjoying the delicious variety of food that we offer.

If you fancy just a coffee and cake, you can pick from our selection of rich cheesecakes, decadent mud cakes, fruity tarts, Texas style muffins and many more fresh cakes available to suit all tastes including gluten free cakes. For something a little more substantial, our savoury menu ranges from simple toasted sandwiches, sausage rolls and pies through to delicious gourmet foods such as filos, lasagnes, quiches, cannelloni and pasta bakes all served alongside fresh salad.

We here at Mary Ryan's Springfield like to offer our customers variety in the food we provide, which allows us to cater for most food preferences including vegetarian style food. Come and enjoy the Mary Ryan's experience from 7 days a week for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

ABC Centre

It's all as easy as ABC with Mary Ryan's Springfield having the added bonus of an ABC centre. So instead of navigating through the traffic to the city, you can browse through our large range of DVD's, music, audio, books and merchandise in the store...and if we don't have it, we can order it in for you at no extra cost within a relatively short time period.

Staff

Owner and manager of Mary Ryan's Springfield is Lydia Moore. Following her love of books she decided not to wait until retirement but to do it now and ventured into the Mary Ryan's family to open Mary Ryan's Springfield in March 2007. She is joined by three dedicated and personable staff members, (whom she calls "heaven sent"), Yvette who works full time by her side in the bookshop/ABC centre and Christine and Michelle are our friendly cafe staff, who make the "best" coffee and who also love to assist in the bookshop following their passion for reading as well.

What's On

Children's Storytelling
We have children's storytelling every Tuesday and Friday at 9.30 am and Thursday's at 5.30 pm. Generally our storytelling runs for approximately 30 minutes and is very interactive. Our children sing, do actions and participate in a variety of ways. We also have different playgroups in the area ring to make times outside of our normal storytelling times. If this is of interest to your playgroup, just call and we can set up a time.

Book Club
With two book clubs under way and a third about to commence, book clubs are not only a great way to meet new friends but most importantly, push the boundaries of what you would normally read and experience a novel to its limits . Our groups range in age from 18 to 65 so we get an intelligent discussion from a variety of perspectives. Our monthly evening group meets on the first Thursday of every month at 6.00 pm and for our die hard readers, our "fast track" group meets fortnightly (yes, that is one book every two weeks). About to commence is our monthly day group who will be meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at 10.00 am. So if books are your passion, give us a call and we will fit you into the most suitable group

Heralded as the one of the best of its kind, Orion Springfield Town Centre, through innovative design and world-leading technology, is one of Australia's most environmentally friendly shopping centres.

From the earliest planning, Orion Springfield has been designed to reflect world's best practice in environmental sustainability. It uses little more than half of the energy of a similar sized shopping centre - saving enough power to service 500 Queensland homes for a year.

Through the use of recycled water and rainwater collection, there will be a 62% reduction in portable water use - saving 98,000kL of water every year, enough to fill 40 Olympic size swimming pools and it will produce 5,000 fewer tonnes of carbon dioxide per year compared with similiar sized shopping centres.

Orion Town Centre has over 2,000 free carparking spaces, with approximately 1,500 of those under-cover, providing easy access to all areas of the Town Centre.

Where you can find us!

Orion Springfield Town Centre is located in the newest satellite city of Queensland in Springfield. We are situated on the cross over of Centenary Highway and Springfield Greenbank Arterial Road. From Brisbane take the second Springfield Exit off the Centenary Highway, cross the round-a-bout into Orion. From Redbank Plains follow Augusta Parkway and continue onto Sinnathamby Boulevard, turn left at the first lights into Orion.

Buses and Taxis

All buses to Orion Town Centre stop at the Bus terminal at the northern end of Southern Cross Circuit below Big W.

The taxi rank is at the front of the Town Centre outside ANZ Bank.
